Is there any shampoo to help bring out my natural blonde highlights? I have strawberry blonde hair?

I recently read reviews about Clairol's Shimmer Lights Shampoo--It seems to have gotten great reviews but I don't know if it will work on my strawberry blonde hair. My hair seems to be getting darker as I get older and I'm looking for a shampoo to help bring out my natural blonde highlights more, without actually highlighting it. Has anyone tried anything on strawberry blonde hair that has worked for them?Is there any shampoo to help bring out my natural blonde highlights? I have strawberry blonde hair?

To any cosmetologist what is good detangling conditioner and shampoo for my 9 year old daughters natural hair?

we are african american. To any cosmetologist what is good detangling conditioner and shampoo for my 9 year old daughters natural hair?
I take it you are not straighting her hair with a chemical relaxer, when you say natural hair....I would suggest Redken All Soft shampoo and Conditioner....excellent product.

Another great conditioner is Biolage Conditioning Balm. You can also use the Redken WaterWax on her hair, that will keep it soft managable and detangled, plus it will allow her to twist her hair into ringlets natuarally, it's a great product for both African American and Caucasian or anyone hair that is not oily......hope this helps!

TinaTo any cosmetologist what is good detangling conditioner and shampoo for my 9 year old daughters natural hair?
you might want to stop using shampoos, they are the reason our hair gets tangled in the first place. Using conditioner mixed with a little baking soda cleans the scalp as effectivley as any shampoo and is better for the hair and scalp than traditional commerical shampoos.

If you must shampoo, try creme of nature, the shampoo is pretty thick and lathers on pretty good. Olive oil replenishing paks and nuetrogena triple moisture deep recovery hair mask are two good conditioners. Try combing out the tangles with the conditioners still in her hair and then rinse out.
Mane n Tail, The Original Deep Moisturizing Shampoo...my mom used this on my hair until i got my first relaxer, my hair was always soft, easy to manage, %26amp; strong
Loreal no tears shampoo and conditioner it has a special detangler one!

Best shampoo to get rid of frizz and enhance my natural waves?

I'm not really looking for a single person's opinion, but does any professional know? Or has a magazine named one or something?

Oh, and I was going to ask my hairdresser next time I went, but i'm worried she'll just suggest whatever they sell, and no necessarily the best product. Am I right to believe this?Best shampoo to get rid of frizz and enhance my natural waves?
I just bought the new Sally Hershberger line for wavy hair from Walgreens (it's the only place to get it right now). My friend is a beauty editor at a fashion magazine and she recommended it to me months ago when they first got the samples.

I LOVE IT! It totally accentuates the waves and it is super easy. There is a shampoo, a conditioner, and a styling primer. I used a little serum after that and my hair was pretty much frizz free (which it never is when I just let it go and be wavy). I would definitely recommend it.Best shampoo to get rid of frizz and enhance my natural waves?
.
Okay, this will sound weird, but I previously worked for Athena's Home Novelties (adult toys). They sell a very rich, thick shave cream; its called Coochie Shave Cream. (No red bumps, rash, blah blah) but they also say it works great for taming frizzy hair. I've heard it works good! Not cheap but hey, you'll get 2 uses for one price! Check out the website, google Athena's home novelties.. Good luck
well my aunt is a hairdresser and she has blonde wavy hair which, im thinking, is probably kinda like yours

everytime i go ther 2 sleep over with my cousins, i see the whole pantene pro-v collection the one that prevents frizz in her bathroom. she has the cream, the shampoo, conditioner, spray, everythingg

  • Is it OK to use shampoo for colortreated hair on natural colored hair?

I really like the smell of Herbl Essence color me happy but its for color treated hair, is it OK to use?Is it OK to use shampoo for colortreated hair on natural colored hair?
You bet. It most likely just doesn't have sulfates. At least I would hope it would not have them since they pull out deposited color. Anyway, you can't be too gentle to your hair. If you use well water or hair products such as hair spray, gel, etc., be sure to use a clarifying shampoo once or twice a month. A great one is made by Pureology. The link is below. It is on the high price end but it is very concentrated. Is it OK to use shampoo for colortreated hair on natural colored hair?
NO! Your hair will turn a rainbow of colors and you will only be able to get a job as a clown.
i do it all the time when im outa shampoo
Of course it is! The only reason they specify hair types is because it has something your hair needs- the ';color-treated'; shampoo (and conditioner) has additional moisturizers and things to keep the color longer- it will not, AT ALL, hurt your hair...
I think it is i have tries it and it doesnt hurt your hair.

    just try it.

Does anyone know the best all natural or organic dandruff shampoo?

I heard olive oil works but I'm not sureDoes anyone know the best all natural or organic dandruff shampoo?
tea tree oil shampoo works really good.Does anyone know the best all natural or organic dandruff shampoo?
I haven't heard about the olive oil, but Pure %26amp; Basic has an excellent shampoo/conditioner combo set that works excellent for dandruff. They have natural ingredients, etc, but I don't remember if it's certified USDA organic. the JASON brand had a dandruff shampoo and tincture that my brothers have used and swear by, but I think they were just natural formulas as well, not USDA certified organic.
Try Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree line...it has peppermint and eucalyptis in it That will heal the dryness on your scalp. It is very concentrated and if used 3 times a week wont dry out the rest of your hair.

The product price is average in acceptable and reasonable level.
I'm a huge fan of Lush. All of their products are made from fresh ingredients (just a few have synthetics), so the fragrances in them (and they have YUMMY smelling fragrances) are just from the botanical oils, fruits, etc. that they use. They also do not test their products on animals, which is a cool side benefit, too. Some of their shampoos are in bar form, so they don't have a bunch of excess packaging/plastic. Very cool place.

In addition to the shampoos and conditioners, they also have bath bombs, soap, skin care, fragrance, powders, masques. Check out their website.

Carpet cleaning whats best? shampoo, something home made that all natural?

I have two dogs, and I need to clean my carpets. what should i use any shampoo from the store? I hear it is not good for your carpet. is there something home made that would be better?Carpet cleaning whats best? shampoo, something home made that all natural?
Depending on the color of your carpet vinegar works wonders. You just need to go back over it with regular water to make sure you get it all soaked up well. Liquid Tide with Bleach also works wonders and leaves a fresh clean scent. I have three kids so I've learned a little about carpet cleaning without having to buy actual carpet shampoo over every spill. Honestly it just doesn't work well.Carpet cleaning whats best? shampoo, something home made that all natural?
There is nothing wrong with rental carpet cleaners if you wish to do it yourself. But frankly, I wouldn't waste the time. Call a professional company and have the carpets done. I personally own a steam cleaner for quick clean ups in high traffic areas that works great and is a great investment. I have never had an issue with the products so what you have heard about cleaners being bad for the carpets is something I have never heard of. I have used all the services and never had an issue. What could be bad about cleaning your carpet? That leaves me a little confused.
Shampoo will leave a residue and dirt is attracted to what is left in the carpet. Use the hottest water you can and just keep going over the area making sure that you extract as much as possible. Give your dogs their own throw rugs to lay on from now on and then you just have to toss in the wash.
The rental machines do a good job at putting the water %26amp; cleaner down but don't do a great job extracting it.

I would shop around, in these times businesses are slow %26amp; you can bargain.

Depending on what you want to get done you can probably get it done for around $150 for the whole house.
I have used watered down dish soap and a scrub brush to clean my carpets. It takes longer to dry and you want to be careful not to drench the carpet. Also for quick clean ups I use baby wipes. Gets most things out of carpet fast.
Call up someone who has a carpet cleaning van its faster and better done. You might spend the same amount of money on the carpet cleaning guy or lady as much as you would on the carpet cleaning products.
Call Sears to have it professionally done or rent a Rug Doctor.

    Ingredients:

    1 1/2 teaspoons Corn Oil

    Directions:

Add the corn oil to your regular conditioner, rinse out as you normally would.

TIP: To avoid having dry brittle hair, avoid using hot curling irons or blow dryers, bleaching and perming, and hair dyes....use safe alternatives instead such as natural dyes like hennas. Sometimes lacking nutrients can also cause dry brittle hair. Take a multivitamin and mineral supplement on a daily basis.

Storage: Most recipes require refrigeration since they don't contain preservatives. Shelf Life is approximately 1 week.

    Deep Conditioner

    The Ingredients

    1/2 cup of real mayonnaise

    The Instructions

Comb the mayonaisse through your damp hair, then wrap your head in a towel, let it penetrate for 20 minutes. Shampoo.

Special Note: Make sure to use mayonaisse and NOT salad dressing. Salad Dressing will dry your hair out.

    maple syrup is good conditioner.
Mayonnaise. Saturate your hair with this and then put on a shower cap so it won't drip. Your own body heat will build up under the cap so the mayo can really work it's way into your hair follicle. After about a half hour like this, shampoo and condition. Also, Cat's suggestion is a great one too.

buy semi-permanent hair color rather than permanent. any semi-permanent will gradually wash out, and you won't have noticeable roots, as long as it's a color that is not really far from your natural (dark brown over naturally blonde hair for example you might end up having roots)

  • What is the best shampoo that has the most natural ingredients and not a lot of additives?

If you'd like, you can make your own shampoo from castille soap. You can find castille soap at lots of drug stores and almost every health food store. Look for the Dr. Bronner's brand -- all the wacky text on the bottle is quite entertaining.

To make shampoo, just dilute the castille soap by about half with water. You can add essential oils for fragrance, many people like to use peppermint, clary sage, orange, or lavender oil. You can also bring the water to a boil before diluting the soap, and throw in herbs of your choice. Yarrow is good for oily hair, you can add a bit of good quality oil like avocado or olive oil for dry hair. What is the best shampoo that has the most natural ingredients and not a lot of additives?
Biolage still isnt that natural as much as they want to market it to be!! Biolage is marketed towards the older client base of Matrix customers, not too edgy but still thinking about the environment and being smart.

Try Kevin Murphy. It's alot like Aveda, and its a natural company, smells great and works very well! Also there is a newer product line called Nutralove, it is made by a vitamin company, and it is very good for your hair. The cool thing about Nutralove is that you can buy ';shots'; and dump them in any shampoo. So if you need a volumizing shampoo that is color safe, you can dump a colorsafe shot right in the volumizing poo! Same goes for moisture, volume, etc. What is the best shampoo that has the most natural ingredients and not a lot of additives?
Go to the health food store. They are kinda expensive though. What I found I really like is the Salon Care brand from Sally's Beauty Supply that comes in the big gallons. It doesn't lather the greatest but makes your hair feel real nice. No yukky build up in either the shampoo or conditioner in this brand.
jaason and some others are available at most health food/organic stores and some supermarkets.

I shampoo twice daily and always massage my scalp gently for a few minutes. But I always find hair on my hand after massaging. Is this natural? Is it natural for hair to drop whenever i shampoo?
Definitely cut down on the hair washing!

It's normal to lose some hair when you shower, but you could be irritating the hair follicles by washing it so much.

Read this when you get a sec, it might explain about the hair oil/ shampooing thing.

http://www.smm.org/buzz/blog/dishing-dir鈥?/a>Is it natural for hair to drop whenever i shampoo?
Yes, most people lose about 100 hairs a day, on average. If it's falling out in clumps then I'd panic.

Twice a day is a bit excessive though, you're stripping all the natural oils off your hair. Maybe think about cutting back to just once a day?
depends on how much hair. I once heard/read somewhere that blondes ';shed'; most in the shower, while brunettes tend to lose more hair in their brushes, etc. But if you have CLUMPS of hair coming out, then I might consider a doctor's visit
Stop washing it so much. You should only wash your hair one time every other day.It is good for your hair to have it's natural oils.

It is normal for hair to come out in your hands just not globs of it.
Totally. Hair and skin is always flaking off people. A increase in the amount coming out could be cause for concern, but not just the fact that some is.
No. You might be be prone to premature balding. So you might want to look into that...
Yes it's normal, as long as you don't have loads of hair in your hands.

i like to use dr. bronner's lavender castile soap. it makes a pretty good shampoo but you have to use a good conditioner because it cleans very well. what shampoo have you been using? aveda products are good, but they're kind of pricey. i have also had good experiences with burt's bees shampoos. their new 'radiance' line of skincare products is pretty awesome too! I am a big fan of natural products, but i haven't been able to give up my redken allsoft conditioner!
I uses Giovanni shampoo and Alba conditioner. (The cocoa butter one smells SO good!)

It sounds like you might need some deep conditioning however. A good natural method is to mix an avocado with an egg yolk and some olive oil in the blender. Apply to hair and cover with plastic for an hour or more. Then rinse and shampoo as usual. (I generally follow with a beer rinse.)
I have had the same problems with shampoo in the past. However, I found a brand I really like. Nature's Gate is very nice and has a wide range of ';types'; of shampoo. I personally like the henna one because it makes my hair so soft.

I buy this shampoo and conditioner at Whole Foods but they may have it elsewhere, I am not completely sure.
Most natural food stores carry their own line and tend to be a lot cheaper than private lines. Whole foods carries a line of shampoos and conditioners that are great and have super yummy scents. I use the grapefruit one and get compliments on it all the time.

http://geebal.blogspot.comWhat are natural remedies for hair loss? ANy good natural hair loss shampoo that you know of that works?
I've tried the Lauat natural hair shampoo and it works for me so far. It is based on natural herbs found in the Phillipines, which have traditionally proven to prevent hair loss and revitalize the hair follicle to promote hair growth. It also good for the scalp, and getting rid of dandruff. You can buy the shampoo at www.elantree.com.

    Thanks!Natural Shampoo?
My favorite natural shampoo is either Aubrey Organics or Yeshakem.

I also like Yeshakem body wash, I even wash my face with it.

I like to use some cleaning products from www.PennysPetPantry.com, they're safe for my animals to be around.Natural Shampoo?
I'm a big fan of Burt's Bees shampoo and conditioner (the one with grapefruit smells SO good, and they always leave my hair so shiny and looking healthy.) I also can't live without my Burt's Bees chapstick, and I also like Tom's natural deodorant.
I use both Collective Well-Being %26amp; Giovanni shampoos. I like them because they don't contain sulfates, which fade colored hair (%26amp; which almost all shampoos have in some form, including salon products for 'colored hair').

I get them at Whole Foods, but recently saw my Target has started to carry Giovanni products.

Shampoo to bring out natural blonde highlights?

My hair is a sandy blonde color and I want to bring out the natural blonde highlights. I would prefer not to use the lemon juice or sun-in methods. What brand of color-enhancing shampoo should I use? I know Sunsilk, John Frieda, and Pantene have color-enhancing shampoo and conditioner, but is there any others? If you've used any color-enhancing hair products, which brand did you think worked the best? I don't want hair that's too blonde, just subtle highlights. I'm a regular user of Herbal Essences but I would love to try something that uses all natural ingredients.

What is the best brand that you have found? Estimated price as well, thanks. What is the best natural shampoo and conditioner?
Hiya! You didn't give much detail about what type of hair you have, nor did you mention what country you are in, so I can't be majorly specific. However, I'd recommend going to a Lush store; all their products are natural, and they have cool names and smell amazing! You can get their stuff online too but you have to pay for delivery because they send you really fresh stuff. It's amazing and I swear by their conditioner called Jungle, it comes in a bar too so it lasts for ages, can be a little tricky to get the hang of but once you do its amazing and all natural stuff!

Or you could try a brand called Naked, they have great products too, and watch out cos they don't lather up much but thats cos they don't contain a lot of chemicals. Best of luck ! xxxWhat is the best natural shampoo and conditioner?
Hello, you should try using Unicure Blue or Natural Shampoo along with Unicure Hair and Skin Conditioner as both a leave in and wash out conditioner its grease less, perfume, fragrance, and color free. Eggs have a lot of protein in them and if you put them in your hair they will help your hair! I tried it before and the next day it was so shiny and beautiful. I know it is gross but give it a try and if it does not work for you then you can try a real shampoo with egg protein in it!

Good shampoos are ones that are ph balanced, gentle on your hair and contain real herbal/organic ingredients. Unfortunately, the market is flooded with natural products but hardly a few do meet the requirements of our hair and scalp. Shampoos from some big companies survive only with a big billion-dollar advt. push and hardly deliver the desired results that are shown so dramatically in their advt. So, when you are looking for the ingredients, you are being pretty intelligent, unlike most of our fellow citizens who are too easily taken for a ride.

There is a range of specialised hair products that has recently been known; it's called the Segals Solutions Program. They have shampoos, conditioners, hair-protectors, some formulations for the scalp and an Advanced Hair Supplement. It has all what you are looking for plus much much more like Comfrey extract, Aloe Vera, Grapefruit seed extract, Green Tea, Chamomile extract, Gingko Biloba, some special hair-vitamins and minerals.

Segals solutions is by far the best known brand with herbal and natural extracts, not heard of in any other brand in India. It comes from Canada and is silently working wonders for people who have thinning hair, hairloss, damaged/dry hair, frizzy hair, dandruff, itchy scalp, etc. I hv personally tried their thinning hair program and now after about two months, I have almost zero hairloss for the past about 3 weeks.

    Hope that helps !

Which shampoo would be better for natural african-american hair: Herbal Essence or Dove?

I want to switch shampoos. I want one that will make my hair more easier to manage and also detangle it along with keeping it moisturized. So I'm stuck between Dove and Herbal Essence. Any other suggestions are welcomed.Which shampoo would be better for natural african-american hair: Herbal Essence or Dove?
Don't get either! They both contain harsh chemicals called sulfates, which are horrible for African American hair. Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate both strip moisture out of your hair and leave it dry. Dryness makes it brittle and more prone to breakage. Keep in mind these are the same chemicals used to create soapy foam in floor cleaners and engine degreasers.

If you're going to use shampoo, find a sulfate free shampoo. The product lines below have sf shampoo that have received good reviews from African American women:

    Burt's Bees: http://www.burtsbees.com

    Carol's Daughter: http://www.carolsdaughter.com/

    Aubrey Organics: http://aubreyorganics.com/

    Blended Beauty: http://blendedbeauty.com

    Trader Joe's Refresh Shampoo: http://www.traderjoes.com

    Avalon Organics: http://www.avalonorganics.com/

    WEN: http://www.wenhaircare.com

    Jason: http://www.jason-natural.com/

If you have kinky or curly hair, you can do away with shampoo all together and just co-wash. It's when you use only conditioner to wash your hair. Conditioner still contains detergents which will make your hair clean, but they are not as harsh as the sulfates found in most shampoos. Most people experience softer, more moisturized hair that grows to longer lengths. In addition, it is comparatively cheap to using organic shampoos because it only requires light drugstore conditioners.Which shampoo would be better for natural african-american hair: Herbal Essence or Dove?
Sounds like you're looking for DOVE! But it's a good idea to switch your hair products every few months, because certain products will add more of a certain chemical and stip your hair of another so it's always a good idea to have a couple shampoos on hand so that your hair isn't deprived of anything in particular

you may also find that between summer and winter you need to switch products. something that works well in winter may leave summer hair somewhat greasier!

but yes, i suggest dove for sure! i find that herbal essence is mostly good for yummy smells..but otherwise, it's not as effective as dove (in my opinion)
i would say Dove too, but another good is Pantene Pro-V, the one for black folks, it's a really good moisturizer. They have thick conditioner which make your hair super soft and manageable.
I prefer Herbal essence. If they were my only 2 choices other than that I love tressemme, it feels great.
i say Dove. i think its a blue bottle but im not sure ... herbal essence has alcohol that dries out our hair

these should help and Take some mayonnaise and an avocado and whip until a minty green paste. Use as shampoo,

Take an avocado pear, and some baking soda. Mash them together with a little bit of water to make a paste. Rinse your hair with warm water first, then apply the paste and rinse it out with cold water. Unbelievable soft hair!

    Hibiscus Shampoo

Take a bunch or hibiscus leaves and crush with a little water..keep crushing and you'll soon notice the shuddiness. Apply the mixture to hair directly or strain through a strainer to get the bits and peices of leaves out. Add a few drops of your favorite food grade essential oil, I love peppermint! Tip: Make when your about to wash your hair because it doesn't keep well.

get one coco ripe coco pod.

its tastes delicious so you may suck on the seeds and then throw them away.

then you grate the pod with a fine grater. then add a little water and use ur hands to squish the result of the grater with the water until you end up with a thick slime. and voila you have natural shampoo, be careful, rinse out hear properly after use cuz this shampoo was designed to create dread locks if left in hair

As I've recently learned, many products will claim they're natural or organic, but they don't fit the true definition of it. For example, if you read the bottles of some of these products then you'll notice they never really claim to be 100% organic or natural. I have some semi-organic products like giovanni, and it works well, but if you want 100% organic then try this site, they give a list of companies that sell 100% organic products, including hair and skin care lines.

http://www.organicconsumers.org/btc/Buyi鈥?/a> - type ';hair'; into the keyword search and it'll bring up the companies that sell 100% organic hair care products. Organic and natural are different things, though.Does anyone know of a good all natural shampoo and conditoner?
Try Purdie's they are a scottish producer of Organic skincare products. They do some lovely shampoos and conditioners. Some really posh hotels in Scotland tend to use their stuff. Namely the Lemon grass shampoo and conditioner.
Lush!!!!!!!!!! If you have never tried their products then you are really missing out! I get very gresy hair and I use the juniper shampoo and jungle conditioner, and they are gorgeous!!! I used to have to wash my hair every other day, but since using the Lush products I can leave it for up to 4 days and It's still barely greasy! I highly reccommend Lush!!
    Head and Shoulders.

Gets rid of dandruff, keeps your hair clean.

If you don't like the smell, it helps to get a different type of conditioner.

Herbal Essences isn't so bad either.
Boots do a range called 'natural' which is all natural and organic ingredients and its not very expensive either.
    Burt's Bees

Their products get great reviews and it is an all around great company.

What is the best shampoo for natural african hair?

I have this thick, natural african hair and i think my shapoo is not working for me anymore. I use the pantene prov 2 in 1 (shampoo and conditioner) but after a shower, i see so many bits of my hair break off. I want something that will leave my hair smooth, soft and detangled without losing any bits of it. Some help......anyone.....hairstylists??????What is the best shampoo for natural african hair?
Natural African hair needs a lot of moisture because the hair's natural oils tend to get trapped in the scalp and don't travel to the scalp because of the tight curl pattern. Because of this, most shampoos on the market, like Pantene, only dry and damage black hair because they contain sulfates, glycols, and parabens that only dry the hair more!

I would suggest seriously looking at the ingredients in any shampoo before you buy them...even higher priced brands for black hair. I personall recommend only Beauty 4 Ashes GodHead shampoos, which are all natural and have natural oils thick, african hair needs to grow, stay moisturized, soft, and detangled (wwwdiscoverb4acom). After one wash, you will immediately notice a difference in your hair. You may have to pay more for it..but for the amount you get, 16-20 ounces, you are paying a similar price to buying Carol's Daughter shampoos. Carol's Daughter products are about 90% all natural, but do contain some drying ingredients (wwwcarolsdaughtercom)

Also, consider deep conditioning your hair after every wash. Here is a simple recipe:

    1/2 cup of mayo

    1 egg

    1 teaspoon of honey

    1 teaspoon of olive oil

Mix it together. Apply it to your hair and let it sit on it for 15-30 minutes. Your hair will stop breaking. What is the best shampoo for natural african hair?
I think you need to use products that are designed more for your hair type. I use Creme of Nature products and Motions Hair products. You can also look online for more products for African/African American hair.
I consulted with one of my girlfriends and she said don't EVER use a 2 in 1.. she said to use a separate shampoo and conditioner.. and get a leave in conditioner for after you use the first conditioner..

Pantene is the worst shampoo on the market. It has silicone in it and cotes your hair to make it appear shiny, however it is damaging your hair and making it week.

The simplest organic shampoo you can make at home is a mixture of egg whites and lemon juice, about 3/4 egg white and 1/4 lemon juice mixed and whipped. It works pretty well, but be careful not to use the yolk of the egg or it can make your hair smell bad. The whites won't do that.
I've heard of using mayo for conditioner, but I sure wouldn't like the smell!

If your true hair color is black it cannot fade by washing only the sun can do that. It can however get dull from chemical residue in shampoo and conditioner. Sauve makes a clarifying shampoo that can be used twice a week to strip residue. Or you can ad a teaspoon of baking soda to your regular shampoo. Only use the baking soda once a week. But you can buy Organ ix at Walmart for your hair color. There are others like pan-teen. Go to a Sally's you can get the shampoo for dark hair there afford ably. You can buy any shampoo for color treated hair and get the same results, but you still need the clarifier for shine. Hope this helps.

Aubrey, a line of beauty products sold exclusively in healthfood stores is AWESOMME! They have different types of shampoo %26amp; conditioner for whatever hair type you have. I'm a stylist and don't recommend many drug store products, but this is a reputable line with all natural ingredients. Is there a natural shampoo I can use to make my hair soft?
herbal essence shampoos/conditioners work really well. and they smell really good =)Is there a natural shampoo I can use to make my hair soft?
Ooh, the new Dove hair care line is sooo good (and cheap too!) Their Intense Moisture shampoo doesn't strip your hair of the natural oils that your scalp produces, so your hair comes out super-soft and with much less damage than regular shampoo. Try their conditioners too.

Any VERY natural alternatives to soap, shampoo, hair conditioner?

I don't mean skipping deodorant, but does anyone know of household products to use in place of store bought things that contain chemicals. Don't bother listing natural products sold by companys, I'm interested in simple ingredients (like olive oil for skin moisturizer.) thanx!Any VERY natural alternatives to soap, shampoo, hair conditioner?
Well, for the hair conditioner you can use vinegar, it helps make your hair shiny. I believe some vinegar is distilled so forget mixing it with water. If you diluted it you wouldn't get the most out of it anyways.Any VERY natural alternatives to soap, shampoo, hair conditioner?
    Deodorant: Baking soda, preferably organic.

Homemade Liquid Hand Soap Recipe: (http://thriftyliving.net/?p=150):

    water, 1 cup

liquid castile soap (e.g. Dr. Bronners*), 1/4 cup

    vegetable glycerine, 1 teaspoon

    essential oil, 4 drops

    1. Combine everything in a pump bottle, shake gently to mix.

    Makes 10 ounces.

    * Ingredients in Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap:

Water, Saponified Organic Coconut %26amp; Organic Olive Oils (w/retained Glycerin), Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Citric Acid, Vitamin E.

    http://www.ehow.com/how_4753458_natural-鈥?/a>

(note: this recipe uses vinegar at the end of it, so this could probably be considered a combination shampoo and conditioner recipe, as the vinegar acts as a conditioner as well as a cleaner.)

For Dry Hair: Put Aloe Vera Gel through your hair.

Skin Moisturizer: As you said, Olive Oil!

For Hives, Itchy Skin, or any kind of skin problem: Aloe Vera Gel combined with Vitamin E Oil, or just Aloe Vera Gel alone.
Well, you could use soap. You can make soap out of olive oil. It's fun, but probably buying it would be less time consuming and maybe less expensive (www.frenchsoapstore.com). You can then use the soap for showering and shampooing. If you massage coconut oil into your scalp and run it through your hair at night you won't need a conditioner in the morning.
For soft and shiny hair, after you've shampooed, rub one tablespoon of apple cider onto your hair, then wash it out and condition. On the second was before you shower pour half a cup of olive oil on your hair, and leave for one hour. Then wash and condition.
Apple cider vinegar rinse. Mix Apple Cider Vinegar 1 part to 2 parts water, douse your hair in the shower and rinse with cold water. This makes your hair soft and shiny.

I know I can go to a natural store but I am hoping for something more mainstream so that I can continue to buy it no matter where I live in the US. I am trying to clear my hair follicle because I am having some thinning where as my hair up to about 3 years ago has been really thick. Any suggestions. What is a good natural (or near natural) shampoo ?
Giovanni shampoos and conditioners are all natural (free of sulfates, silicones, artificial fragrances, parabens and phthalates) and can be purchased at longs, target, grocery stores and whole foods.

Also, if you have a trader joe's near you, any of their shampoos will be natural and really inexpensive.

To help clear your follicle, make sure to really massage all parts of your scalp with the pads of your fingers during your shower. This will help open and flush the sebaceous glands as well as invigorating the capillaries in your scalp.

Happy Hair Cleaning!!Does anyone know of a good shampoo made from all natural products that actually work?
What do you mean by ';breaking out?'; You could have some type of dermatitis that could be helped by prescription shampoos. I'd see a dermatologist if you think this could be the case.

My fave shampoo of alllll time is Pureology. Its marked as vegan and sulfate free, and its for colored hair. I don't have colored hair and I still use it. Its on the expensive side for sure (25 dollars a bottle) but it lasts a long time because you only need a little bit. It leaves my hair sooo soft!

I tried Organix a few months ago because I saw it was sulfate free. I was hoping for a less expensive alternative to Pureology...I wasn't happy with it though. My hair felt like straw. But that's just my experience.

    Hope that helps!
The absolute best is Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! Organix has different collections for different hair types in different scents which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, CVS, Walgreens, Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond, Rite-Aid, Wal-Mart, etc. Its the best! You'll love it!!!!

also, since your hair is long there is a detangler/scalp spray from a brand called california baby. it has rosemary and is soothing to the scalp and also helps to keep your hair from getting tangled.

I agree. Try the shop that is called Body Shop.
Giovanni Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner.

You can usually buy it from healthy food sections in supermarkets or health food stores. No animal products, no animal testing and it smells nice and tingles the scalp. The conditioner actually conditions and the shampoo cleanses Something else I like-- You can get it at Costco sometimes in a huge bottle for very little $. I like Aveda products, too, but they are a bit pricey.

Try not to condition the roots, to keep them from getting greasy, and leave conditioner on the ends a while if they are dry. Nioxin shampoo feels very good and helps with flaky scalp, but the conditioner leaves my hair greasy. Good Luck..
organic stuff and look @ the labels
Avoid any product that contain 'sodium laurelth/laurel sulphate' in them. It's a foaming agent that is in most shampoos. You can try Giovanni Organic Hair Care, go to Giovanncosmetics.com

Also, if you're finding you scalp becoming oily at the roots and dry at the ends, you're probaly using the wrong brush or not brushing enough. Try a Deboa brush, it's just the most fantastic investment you can buy. Fabulous for your scalp and it will disperse the oil sitting on your scalp evenly through to the ends. Do this twice day for a month.

Honestly no shampoo will kill all 3 life cycles of the flea.

You may find a collar or a shampoo that will kill the live fleas that come in contact with it but the larvae and pupa will hatch in 3-4 weeks and you will still have fleas!

(about 2) she cracks the egg, puts it in a bowl, and then she mixes up the yolk and stuff with a fork. then, she wets her hair with warm water and applies the egg solution to her hair... Massage through your hair then, with slightly cool (halfway between cool and warm) water, rinse it out. Don't use too warm or hot water...or you will cook the egg on your head.

Using soapwort or another natural foaming agent that is not based on sodium lauryl sulphate or other harsh unnatural chemicals. Just curious to know what you have used for the 'soap' part of the shampoo.Anybody made a homemade shampoo using only natural ingredients?
Castile soap. You can buy it in the bottle and dilute it 1 tbsp to 16 oz water and it lathers good. Find it at any health food store. It's a liquid and has been around since 1800's. You can use it on everything it's so gentle. I've used it and it contains no synthetics at all.

Or goat milk soap bar www.dandesoap.com. She also carries a castor oil shampoo bar.

Everything you buy these days has that mess in it. Also, you can take soap scrapes, place two pieces or one motel sample soap, into a 16 oz jar or bowl. fill with water. It will gel overnight, stir and it's ready to use. Plus you are recycling your left over soap. I've used all three and my hair is down to my waist.Anybody made a homemade shampoo using only natural ingredients?
You can try shaving off an amount of Neutrogena soap for sudsing purposes (the unscented type).

I use it for sudsing with baking soda for brushing my teeth. No, it doesn't taste soapy, I don't use that much.

I just rub the dry brush on the bar to get plenty for my purposes. For shampooing, I'd think just passing the bar over a microplane grater a few times would yield enough.
Take an avocado pear, and some baking soda. Mash them together with a little bit of water to make a paste. Rinse your hair with warm water first, then apply the paste and rinse it out with cold water. Unbelievable soft hair!

    also

Make a paste with baking soda and water, massage this into your scalp and rinse well. Next spray a solution of one part cider vinegar to four parts water on to the ends of my hair and again rinse well. cleans and detangles. makes your hair feel very soft.

    also

Put 1 banana in a blender and add some natural yogurt and apply to hair after shampooed- leave for a minute and rinse out with warm water- comes up a treat

    Or

Use a juicer and juice 2 oranges. Put raw coconut oil, olive oil, couple tablespoons of aloe vera straight from the aloe leaf and the orange juice and put it into a blender with an avacodo, and blend and there you go..works great.

    I've also heard that

heard that sprinkling cornstarch in your hair softens it as well as it removes the oil. Just leave it in for a few minutes then brush it out.
    I use aloevera
Hi 鈾?Zene Purrs. You can buy a natural liquid soap from the health food store. Also purchase some essential oils such as lavender (for all hair types), rosemary, clary sage, cedar wood, birch and peppermint (for hair loss) bergamot, rosewood, eucalyptus etc. Also purchase natural oils such as olive, jojoba, or avocado. Here鈥檚 what to do; in a clean spray bottle, pour in about 陆 a cup of distilled or spring water. Add 1 cup of liquid soap. Then take 2 tsp of your vegetable oil and add 10 to 20 drops of your chosen essential oils. It can be just one or several combined oils. Shake gently. There you have it. Simple as that! (Essential oils always need to be in a vegetable oil base because of its concentration). You should not need a cream rinse after that because oils will be replaced.

    1) If you need deep conditioning, try saturating your hair in mayonnaise or warmed olive oil. Wrap tightly and cover with a shower cap and let rest on the hair for approximately 20 minutes, then rinse out. You can also take 2 egg yolks and whisk them until frothy, then add some warm water. Pour over hair and leave on for 2 minutes then rinse well.

    2) It鈥檚 a good idea to do a final rinse on your hair with something acidic such as cider vinegar, lemon juice, beer or even milk. Add any of these ingredients with some water to rinse your hair with to restore the alkaline/acid balance of your hair and scalp, and take off any residue you may have left on your hair. Look article: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/What%27鈥?/a>

    Jason Homan
I have curly hair and make a rinse out of lavender and water. I don't add any sudsing agents. This rinse still cleans the hair without stripping it of needed oils. Do you have curly hair or straight?

I'm gonna star this because I find it interesting...

EDIT: Straight hair needs more shampoo than curly --the curlier the hair is the more likely somebody could get by with a rinse. Even with straight hair the rise is a good idea every now and then or you can make a bunch and leave it in an old coke bottle and keep it next to the tub. At the end of your shower you can poor it over you hair and it will be cold which will leave your hair extra shiny because the cold water will smooth the hair out (think of how it closes the pores on your face).

Don't use mayonnaise. Go to the store and buy a bottle of plain olive oil. Wash your hair and rinse it, then pour/comb olive oil into it and spread it to the ends, until it's 'almost dripping.' Wrap your hair in a large towel and sit in the warmest spot you can for an hour (read or do needlework or watch TV), then go unwrap your hair. It should feel 'almost dry.' Wash again, and then let it dry naturally. Don't wash your hair every day, but only when you can 'feel the dirt/grease. You can use this 'olive oil' treatment once a week for up to a month, then once a month for sleek, supple hair that isn't dry, and you should have little to no 'static' in your hair at all. I got this treatment from my hairdresser, and at 58 (he's been my hairdresser since I was 55) my hair looks better than it ever has before. I am using a detox all natural/organic shampoo, and you are not supposed ot use condition, but my hair is dry?
Use a shampoo and conditioner that moustiries and nourishes your scalp %26amp; hair. I would maybe say use head %26amp; shoulders as well as that is for dandruff etc and is meant to moustourise etc to stop it so maybe try that as it gives a great shine also! Or even go to the chemist and ask the pharmacist which shampoo she reccomends for your problem. Hope this helps %26amp; good luck with your hair (:
well, just like every person is different, the hair is different, thats why there's no universal shampoo.

although many people can advice you about good shampoos, you have to try out some to get the best result that only YOU will get.

    ;) luck

PD: choose shampoos that say 'for dry hair' or stuff that
detox natural/organic shampoo? Don't they have a detox natural/organic conditioner too? I'm positive they do.

    :-)
It depends on your hair type, good luck
    you could use mayonaise.

All hair is natural, isn't it? At least if it's growing out of your head.

Anyway, go to the natural foods store in your area and look for one there. Yes, they are more expensive but it's worth it not to get a bunch of chemicals.

I bought a bottle several months ago and I still haven't used it up- and I wash my hair everyday. It seems to work better. Its by a company called Earth Organics. No fragrance at all (I'm ultra sensitive to smells).

BTW: Pantene is very hard on hair and loaded with chemicals, as are most common ones. One chem in particular has been linked to cancer. What is a good shampoo for natural hair and without perfume in it?
Theres one called simple they do lots of other stuff as well like moisuriser and toner.
    VO5 makes a good one
    Multani sand
Johnson's baby shampoos are very gentle and mild, although they have a light fragrance (I like the honey formulation). There is a shampoo called DHS clear shampoo sold on drugstore.com; while I have no personal experience with it, it seems to have gotten good reviews.
    Nutragena
    Dove shampoo and conditioner
I have natural hair too and its really long and thick, so it gets kind of crazy when i wash it, but ive used a lot of different shampoos. Creme of Nature is good, but now im using Dove....im not sure which one it is, but it's the one in the white bottle and i think it is perfumed, but it makes my hair softer and easier to manage.
The clear one that is clarifying by suave.
    mud
Creme of Nature shampoo works really good, it doesn't have any perfume in it. Pantene Pro-V also has a good shampoo for natural hair, but it has a little fragrance to it.

One of the only hair products I know that are natural, are Aveda products. Redken extreme is good for strengthing damaged hair from chemicals. If your hair is fine, thin and damages easy then redken also has a line called body full which is good.
Woah. That's like a dream Shampoo.

You can't grow your hair thicker or 'stimulate' hair growth. It's not possible.

Where can I buy an all natural shampoo base, so I can make my own shampoo?

    I buy mine here:

What is the best shampoo for a natural blonde with natural highlites? Anyone have any ideas?

I am a natural blonde, and have natural multi-colored highlites. I am wondering if anyone knows of any innexpensive shampoos and conditioners which will bring out my highlites and keep my hair really soft and shiny. Any thoughts? I have tried both Suave 'Blonde' shampoo, and a little of Pantene's 'Blonde' shampoo. Are those good, of is there something much better? Please give me ideas. Thank you! %26lt;3What is the best shampoo for a natural blonde with natural highlites? Anyone have any ideas?
